As the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association season comes to an end many contestants have worked to make sure they secured their spot to head to Las Vegas for the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo this December. There are some names that many may not know with these names making big moves in the last week of the regular season and some names that you would expect to see. Along with the new talent that made it to the Thomas & Mack there are some fan favorites that missed out on their own opportunity to head back to the big show and will be quite the shock to those loyal professional rodeo fans.
The last week of the 2015 professional rodeo season was quite the whirlwind for eight cowboys that were on the outside looking in while trying to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals. Tie-down roper Shane Hanchey, steer wrestler Blake Knowles, bull riders Reid Barker and Kody DeShon, team roping brothers Riley Minor and Brady Minor and saddle bronc rider Tyrel Larsen made the most of the weekend. These eight cowboys had an outstanding last weekend and secured their place to compete at this year’s event in December and have the opportunity to make some much anticipated cash over the ten day stretch!
The latest and last Windham Weaponry World Standings report of the season was released just a few short hours ago and tells the story of who is celebrating and who is wishing they had just worked a little harder. According to the official standings sent out by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Associaition we now know who qualified for the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and who came up just a little short. There were some fan favorites and professional rodeo legends that were not able to reach the top fifteen in the World Standings for 2015 and will be watching the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo from the sidelines. Most notable are two of the Wright brothers, Jesse and Cody, who both missed the top fifteen by just over $8,000, Others that will not be performing in Las Vegas this year include team roper Travis Tryan and bull rider Trevor Kastner.
