As the millions of loyal Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series descend upon Sioux Falls, South Dakota, watch on CBS Sports Network or watch live on PBRLive.com they will witness history as soon as the first round began earlier tonight inside of the Denny Sanford Premier Center.  For the first time in the history of the PBR’s existence there were six countries that were represented as the 2nd annual First Premier Bank/First Premier Bank Card Invitational started underway.

Many fans did not even realize that this history was about to be made and as the in arena announcers made this statement you could feel the shock and awe that came over the sold out crowd.  Tonight there were some new names as well as a few notable names that were missing as injuries continued to weigh them down.  Along with the new names came many new bovine athletes as well that were making their BFTS debut in round number one.  After a week off to celebrate Easter the cowboys and bucking bulls alike came in with a new found attitude that made for a very fun and exciting night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

As the action began down on the arena floor earlier tonight many new faces and names were announced over the sound system as a new slew of stock contractors made their 2016 Built Ford Tough Series debut.  Along with the newcomers many of the top contractors in the business were on hand as well to showcase the bull power that they bring up and down the road all year long.  That being said, once again, the bovine athletes gave each and every one of the contestants all that they could handle heading into round two tomorrow night.

After history was made as six countries were represented, the first time in history, it would be just a handful of the top 35 bull riders in the world that would manage to earn a qualified ride and bring a score into tomorrow night’s round two.  As the bull riders fell by the wayside one after another it would be a total of only 8 that would make it to the eight second buzzer on this Friday night.  After round one we look forward to tomorrow night as this event title and championship round qualifications are still wide open as the young guns debuting here this weekend hope to claim some points to stay on tour!

Once the lights were dimmed and the action was concluded inside of the Denny Sandford Center there would be one man that would stand taller than all others atop the shark cage.  After riding Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s Catfish John for a score of 87.75 points Fabiano Vieira would go into round two as the number one man and the one that all others would be chasing in their hopes of earning an event champion title Sunday afternoon.  As his interview began the sold out crowd erupted in excitement to let it be known that he was truly a fan favorite here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

Unfortunately I was not able to catch Fabiano for an interview due to the language barrier but did receive an official statement later in the evening.  He was very excited about starting off this event atop the leader board but knows that a three day event like this one is a crap shoot.  With only eight riders earning a qualified ride in tonight’s first round we head into round two with things very wide open.  On another note reigning PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney was injured in the chute prior to his ride and is doubtful for the remainder of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota event
