The PBR Built Ford Tough Series Returns To Anaheim!

The west coast has been treating the top 35 bull riders in the world very nicely as the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series has made its way to the great state of California for the annual west coast run.  Last week in Sacramento the sold out crowds inside of the brand new Golden 1 Center witnessed some of the best bull riding action in the world which came close to setting a new record for most bull ridden in an event after covering more than 50 bulls throughout the weekend.

This weekend these cowboys hoped to carry on the confidence that was regained last weekend as the Frontier Communications Showdown Presented By Ariat Boots began.  Many of these bull riders are competing to stay on tour while others look to continue to forge up the world standings with solid performances.  Nine alternates will be competing here this weekend, two of which are J.W. Harris and Brady Sims, and will see if they have enough to make the cut after Saturday night’s action.  Three fan favorites, Luis Blanco, Tyler Harr and Nathan Schaper, have the possibility of being dropped from tour if they can not rise into the top 30 in the world standings.

This weekend marks the fifth event of the 2017 Professional Bull Rides Built Ford Tough Series and for those of you that follow the organization knows what that means.  After tomorrow night’s championship round here in Anaheim some of your favorite cowboys will be leaving the tour as the PBR makes the first cut of the season.  Three of the superstars, in particular, have to make some rides and earn some points if they want to stay on tour.  After this weekend Luis Blanco, Tyler Harr and Nathan Schaper all face the dreaded cut that comes just 24-hours from now!

All in all there are nine alternates competing here this weekend and include Brady Sims and PRCA World Champion J.W. Harris.  Each of these athletes knew what they had to do here in round one and most of them did just that, cover their bovine counterpart for the required eight seconds of fury!  Even though they did earn a score we will have to see if it will be enough to earn them some big event points following tomorrow night’s championship round here at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California!
