The much anticipated start to the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series season kicked off earlier tonight inside the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Over the off season some changes took affect that will greatly impact how the 2016 season stops will be looked at and how the rules that are currently enforced will be looked at. Tonight’s round one did not have any drama, that we know of, for the newly formed Executive Competitions Committee needed to review. With the level of talent that was on display tonight it will set up for a great final night of action!

As the bulls get hauled into the arena and the sound checks and final preparations take place it is all quiet, FOR NOW! There is a lot that goes on prior to the doors opening to a flurry of enthusiastic PBR fans and the Rodeo Round Up along with Jared Allen’s Pro Bull Team stock contractor Matt Scharping bring you front and center. We just wanted to show you how things look before the dust kicked up and the noise level rose to an all new level as the 2016 PBR BFTS kicked off just hours ago!

Like I said earlier the level of talent from both the cowboys and animal athletes on the first night of the 2016 season was much higher than anyone could have ever imagined. Combined it was a total of 15 of the top bull riders in the world that would manage to stay aboard their bulls for the eight second buzzer that sounded throughout the arena and set the fans into a frenzy! The excitement that was generated in round one will, for sure, carry over into tomorrow afternoon’s Championship Sunday performance.

Even though the cowboys took center stage tonight and made themselves known to the bovine athletes that they faced there was one ride that stood out among the rest in round one. All the other contestants will go into tomorrow afternoon’s final rounds chasing the number one man Douglas Duncan after taking the round one win with a 87.25 point ride atop of Jared Allen’s Pro Bull Team’s Hy Test. This is a fantastic start to the season for this young man after suffering a heartbreaking season last year.
