Later tonight the first round on the RFD-TV’s The American Semi-Finals kick off in Ft. Worth at the legendary Ft. Worth Stockyards.  The last two days have been busy inside of the Cowtown Coliseum as the slack performances have been taking place that would set the field for the next two nights of professional rodeo action.  Once things are all said and done the entire roster of those that have made it to the richest one-day rodeo in western sports history will be set.  Through the blood, sweat and tears we will turn our attention to the AT&T Cowboy Stadium as the RFD-TV’s The American begins next Sunday afternoon.

For those lucky enough to have a ticket to the first round of the semis tonight they will be in for a real treat of top tier professional rodeo and bull riding talent.  There are many past world champions and big named stars scheduled to compete tonight.  From Professional Bull Riders world champions to the first ever RFD-TV’s The American Million Dollar Cowboy will step foot on the iconic Cowtown Coliseum arena floor for their chance at advancing to next Sunday’s main event.

Among the many great rodeo stars that will be on display later tonight will be a select few from the ever so popular Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series.  This elite bull riding organization have produced some of the very best in the history of the sport on both the athlete and bovine sides of the arena.  Tonight as the top 20 bull riders that have advanced up to this point there will be at least three very notable names that you see each and every week as the BFTS is broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

Three of the top cowboys in the PBR are scheduled to compete here tonight, just a night before the seventh stop on the BFTS begins in Kansas City.  2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi will take his shot at qualifying for the RFD-TV’s The American along with the current world number one in the BFTS standings.  Brazilian Paulo Lima will climb aboard a bull and try and earn his way to AT&T Cowboy Stadium as well.  Last but not least will be another PBR World Champion, Mike Lee, and Canadian Aaron Roy who will go directly from their performance in Ft. Worth to Kansas City to join back up with the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series.

As I said before, tonight will be a night of great runs, big scores and non-stop excitement as some well known names within the sport of professional rodeo take their shot to head to Arlington, Texas.  World Champion heeler Jhett Johnson along with the first million dollar cowboy from the inaugural RFD-TV’s The American, Richmond Champion.  There is one more that has yet another shot to advance after loosing to Fred Whitfield in the Gold Buckle Matches and that is the one and only six-time world champion Cody Ohl.  That being said there is one other notable lady that will be competing tonight.  Jackie Crawford will compete in the team roping as the only woman to do so in the event this year.
