Tonight all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears come to a head as the 57th Annual Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo comes to a conclusion.  Along with dimming the lights inside of the Thomas & Mack, and the entire city of Las Vegas for all that matter, it was a night of celebration as well.  Tonight we awarded eight World Champion titles and celebrated the end of the 2015 WNFR with all the contestants and media personnel.

The championship round started out with a fitting tribute to all of the past World Champions from the past 56 years of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.  Once the video and spectacles were complete it was time for us to honor the best country in the world, the United States of America!  Singing our National Anthem tonight was the very beautiful voice of Victoria Matlock, member of the Million Dollar Quartet featured at the Harrah’s Hotel and Casino – Las Vegas!

The final round of the 2015 WNFR kicked off with the bareback riding event and it did not disappoint the fan base on a night where “golden” things were happening.  It was a three way split between Tanner Aus, Tim O’Connell and Seven Peebles for win in the tenth go round with great rides that brought them solid 83.5 point scores.  On the other side of the fence, it was bareback rider Steven Peebles who also claimed the 2015 Bareback Riding World Champion title and the Montana Silversmith gold and silver belt buckle!  See what your newly crowned World Champion had to say once the performance was all over and he had time to let it settle into his mind what had just happened!

The steer wrestling event draws some major attention to those “big boys” of the professional rodeo industry as they blazed a trail and dropped some amazing times down on the arena floor tonight.  We feature the World Champions of each event on Saturday night but we can not forget about the amazing run that was laid down to win the tenth go-round that was put down by Baylor Roche with a time of 3.6 seconds!  Officially ending the 2015 PRCA season it was Hunter Cure who claimed the World Champion Steer Wrestling title.  Listen below to see what he had to say about the 2015 season, WNFR and new world championship!

Aaron Tsinigine and Ryan Motes Take Rd 10 At The 2015 WNFR

The teams of the team roping event were on display tonight as every team knew what was up for grabs and pushed themselves with however they could get a slight advantage above everyone else.  In the last few rounds it was fast and furious as the best of the best rose above the rest.  Tonight’s round ten was no different with the team of Nick Sartain and Rich Skelton who got the go-round win with a 4.0 second run and took home a $26,000 payday for their efforts.  On the world title side it was Aaron Tsinigine and Kollin VonAhn who were able to call themselves the best in the world while claiming their respective World Champion buckles, saddles and fame!  See what they had to say below when they stopped by the Rodeo Round Up to talk about their new World Championship title.

Wade Sundell Wins Rd 10 At The 2015 WNFR

In the classic event of saddle riding it was a night to remember as the rides that these guys put together was nothing other than amazing.  Once all competitors made their way to the arena floor courtesy of the RAM Pick-Up Men it was Wade Sundell with a 88.5 point ride who would be named as the tenth go-round winner and claim his go-round winning belt buckle.  Focusing in on the world championship title race it was Jacobs Crawley who would stand proud in the arena while being named the new 2015 Saddle Bronc Riding World Champion!  Jason caught up with Jacobs following the crowning ceremonies to see what he had to say about his new hardware and title of World Champion.

tuf cooper

Tuf Cooper Splits Rd 10 Win At The 2015 WNFR

The quick handed cowboys and talented horses of the tie-down roping event was one of the closest races of recent memory and those watching the tenth and final round saw exactly why first hand.  This event, in the tenth round, saw some of the fastest times over the entire ten day run.  It was Tyson Durfey and Tuf Cooper who split the round and would take home the go-round win and the money that came with it.  In the World Champion race, once all the numbers were crunched and looked over numerous times, it was none other than Caleb Smidt who would take home the title of PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Champion.  See exactly what he had to say immediately after being given that prestigious title and Montana Silversmith belt buckle!

Sherry Cervi

Sherry Cervi Wins Rd 10 Of The 2015 WNFR

The ladies of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association had their turn to electrify the 17,000+ fans inside the Thomas & Mack Arena one more time for the 2015 season and that is exactly what happened here this evening.  Once things settled down and the fan frenzy has quieted down some it was Sherry Cervi who ran the clover leaf pattern faster than anyone else with a 13.55 second run and took home the tenth go-round win.  While the runs were amazing tonight much of the attention was on the important world championship title race that was still yet to be decided.  It was announced over the sound system that it was, in fact, Callie DuPerier who would be able to claim that title for the next 365 days!  See what she had to say after being crowned the 2015 Barrel Racing World Champion when she stopped by the Rodeo Round Up to talk with Jason Hetland!

wesley wilcox

Wesley Silcox Takes The Rd 10 Win At The 2015 WNFR

The bad boys of the bull riding event came into the tenth and final round as the only event where its World Champion was crowned just 24-hours ago.  That did not stop each of the competitors from putting out 110% since there was still a ton of day money and average money to be won at the 2015 WNFR.  In tonight’s round, the tenth and final round, it was Wesley Silcos who claimed the go-round win with a 88 point ride while Sage Kimzey claimed his back-to-back World Championship title last night.  Kimzey is the only rider in the history of the WNFR to win back-to-back titles in his first two years as a PRCA card holder!  See what he had to say to Jason last night after clinching his 2015 Bull Riding World Championship title!
