The Official 2017 WNFR Back Numbers Are Announced

After a long and grueling professional rodeo season the time has come for the top 15 in each event to begin the long days of practice in between those events that have already started that count towards the 2018 season standings.  The 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is set to begin in just over a month as the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the the Women’s Professional Rodeo Associations look to crown their 2017 World Champions.  As the attention begins to grow more and more each day, many exciting announcements are taking place and we will be here to give them all to you.

That being said, there have been a couple of announcements that have been made which we all wait for at this point in time every year.  Along with these announcements that we will discuss, which affect the cowboys and cowgirls, there were also some made that will answer many of the burning questions that those rodeo fans headed to Las Vegas want to know every year as well.  As Sin City turns into cowboy town for ten straight days there is never a dull moment as fans have many options to keep them busy each and every day!

Every year, the fans and contestants of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association wait with anticipation as the official Wrangler National Finals Rodeo back numbers are revealed.  This iconic moment happened earlier this week as the excitement of the start of the event climbs to an all-time high.  Many cowboys and cowgirls will have send-off / back tag number celebrations parties to help them with the confidence they will need throughout the ten days while fans might have a different plan with making t-shirts, posters, necklaces and anything else they can think of to support their favorite rodeo athlete while in Las Vegas for the WNFR.

While the excitement and party atmosphere continue to grow those contestants making their way to the Thomas & Mack for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo will celebrate their momentous occasion was they prepare to make the trip west.  Be sure to follow your favorite rodeo athletes and their social media platforms so you all can experience the fun and excitement that surrounds this year’s WNFR happenings.  The Rodeo Round Up will be taking a different view from this year’s events to show you a completely different side of what happens throughout the town as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo comes to town as part of our daily coverage so keep an eye out for an announcement to come shortly!

There is one thing that the entire professional rodeo world will come together for while enjoying the sights and sounds of our second home as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is set to begin this coming December.  That is to honor and remember those injured and killed in the horrific attacks on the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival just months before.  As you may have noticed, the number 58 in the official back tag announcements does not have a name by it and that is for one very good reason.

This year we will pay honor to those 58 people that lost their lives on October 1st when a gunman opened fire of festival goers while Jason Aldean performed across the street from Mandalay Bay.  The PRCA and WPRA associations, along with the thousands of fans, will remember and honor those with the number 58 WNFR back Tag being reserved in their memories.  There will be a total of 120 professional rodeo athletes that will make their way to Sin City as we prepare to ring in the 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo that will ultimately crown our new 2017 World Champions!
