The Dewalt Guaranteed Tough Invitational PBR Event Begins In Nampa, Idaho

As we move closer and closer towards the end of the 2017 Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series season the race for the world championship title keeps getting closer and closer.  This weekend the fans watching the action live inside of the Ford Idaho Center can expect to see some stiff competition, both on the bull rider and the bovine athlete side.  Coming into this weekend’s Dewalt Guaranteed Tough Invitational presented by Ariat there are five guys at the top of the world standings leader board that know any one of them could leave Idaho as the new world leader.

Including this weekend’s action, there are just three short events remaining and the race for the two world titles that are up for grabs are as close as we have ever seen.  Before the round one performance here tonight the top five bull riders in the world standings were separated by a mere 577 points, which could be made up here in one event this weekend.  Along with the event title up for grabs will also be the last 15/15 Bucking Bull Challenge of the 2017 Built Ford Tough Series season, giving the top fifteen riders in the world a chance to earn a few extra world title race points!

Once the top 35 bull riders in the world were introduced to the crowd it was time to get down to action to see who would have what it took to get past their first-round bovine dancing partner.  The bull power here this weekend would give each and every one of the contestants a heavy dose of reality after a couple of easier weeks as the stock contractors begin to assess their animal athletes before the PBR World Finals.  Tonight, the bucking bulls showed what they had, as a tough first round for the cowboys, made its way through the night.

Throughout the first round of action, it looked as if the end of the season was taking its toll on the top 35 bull riders in the world as they struggled to stay aboard their match-ups for the required eight seconds.  Once things were all said and done, there would be 13 of those 35 that would carry a qualified score with them into tomorrow afternoon’s second round of competition.  That being said, there could only be one man that would stand atop of the shark cage to give a round winning interview to the fans in attendance and tonight that would be Chase Outlaw after putting up a solid 88.75 point ride atop of New West Rodeos’ Blackberry Smoke!

If the action from the first round was not enough to tickle your fancy, much to the excitement of the loyal PBR fans, the night was far from over.  Once the arena was raked and the ground was television camera ready, the final 15/15 Bucking Battle of the 2017 Built Ford Tough Series season was set to begin.  In this special round, the fans get to see the top fifteen bull riders in the world standings pair up against fifteen of the rankest bucking bulls on tour for a chance to earn some valuable extra world title race points.

Everyone inside of the Ford Idaho Arena looked on with nervousness anticipation as the match-ups were placed on the big screen and showcased one by one.  Tonight would prove to be one of the toughest 15/15 Bucking Battles that we have seen all year and would leave the cowboys striving for the best just to earn qualified rides.  As the action concluded there would be a mere two of the fifteen that would be able to earn a marked score and the extra world title race points they were looking for.  Only one man, Cody Teel, would stand taller than the rest, earning a round win with a solid 87.25 point ride aboard Chad Berger/Clay Struve/PBR Rock Bar’s Beaver Creek Beau!
