Barrel Racer Taylor Jacob
Women’s Professional Rodeo Association’s and Wrangler National Finals Rodeo barrel racing qualifier Taylor Jacob suffered a tremendous loss earlier this week that has had devastating consequences for her and her entire family. Earlier this week, on March 4th, Taylor Jacob received a call that no one ever wants to get while on the road making her living doing what she does and loves, barrel racing, that left her completely helpless and feeling like there was nothing that she could do being so far away. Just knowing that something had happened back home was eating her up inside as she waited to compete later that day and one of the year’s biggest rodeos.
Home Of Taylor Jacob After The Fire
Unfortunately this humble barrel racer was dealing with something that she never imagined would happen to her or her family. While on the road waiting to run later in the day on March 4th Taylor Jacob got the phone call that her family’s house had burnt to the ground. As Jacob sat waiting to run at the Rodeo Houston performance she had nothing but time to sit and dwell on the situation but that is not what she did. In fact, she turned to her facebook fan page to share pictures and let everyone know she was okay and still planning on running at that night’s performance by posting, “Today has been tough on my family, sadly to say our home burnt down. We don’t know how or why but thankfully nobody was hurt. All the animals are safe too. I’m still in Houston at the rodeo and will run tonight. Thanks for the prayers.”
Taylor Jacob’s 2013 WNFR Go-Round Win Buckles
Along with the loss of her family’s home came another huge loss of sorts for this cowgirl that gives her entire life to bringing a new light and brightness to the sport of professional barrel racing. Taylor Jacob qualified for her first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2013 and made a huge splash putting her name on the map as one of the greatest in recent memory during the 10 performance run inside the Thomas & Mack. Jacob received pictures from her family at the scene of the fire that showed her two of her go-round buckles that she has won at the 2013 WNFR. The shiny gold and silver belt buckles were covered in debris and ash. Seemingly it looks like those buckles have been taken from this flashy barrel racer but the memories that those carry will never fade in the mind’s of her and her family.
All of us here at the Rodeo Round Up certainly hope that the Jacob family can rebuild and rekindle the dreams that have been taken from them in this house fire. If we know anything about Taylor and her family they will cherish all the memories that were made in that house and will soon rebuild another to make memories to last many more years as well. We also hope that Montana Silversmiths or someone else will step up to the plate to either recreate or replace her 2013 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Go-Round win buckles. We will continue to stay on top of this story and bring you any updates as we receive them so you all can know what is going on with this situation she is facing.
