This week’s PRCA news and highlights bring an iconic rodeo to a close!!

news and notes prca

While the Prfoessional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s week draws to a close one of the most iconic rodeos draw to a close for yet another year.  The Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo came to a close for 2015 after a huge 20 day run and brought some past World Champions together once again to make a huge statement heading into the rest of the 2015 rodeo season.  If anyone would guess who might have “joined” up together as a team again I am sure only a couple names should come up in people’s minds.

PRCA Team Ropers Trevor Brazile And Patrick Smith

This dynamic duo is very well known within the sport of professional rodeo and highly respected among their peers in the team roping event.  These two top tier athletes came together once again to rope as a team at the 2015 Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.  While these two have not won first place with each other in over a year that all changed at the 20 day event with their win on February 7th.  Brazile and Smith came together to win the FWSSR with a 16.5 second time on three head bringing home a total of $13,887 giving each of them $7,076 for their efforts in taking home the average title for the 2015 season at the Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo!

PRCA Saddle Bronc Rider Cody DeMoss

Although most of the rodeo spotlight was on what was happening in Ft. Worth another huge rodeo was taking place hundreds of miles away.  The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo was being held inside of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, SD.  DeMoss was able to cover Sutton Rodeo’s Snake Stomper, a horse that he had never been on, to a tune of 84 points.  This huge ride was made early in the performances, on January 31st, and he had to wait another 7 agonizing days to see if his lead would hold.  His wishes came true once the final saddle bronc horse was bucked on February 7th.  DeMoss was able to collect a cool $4,512 payday for winning the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo.

With two big rodeos concluding early on in the 2015 season some cowboys and cowgirls are finding themselves well on their way to making an appearance at the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo!  Keep up to date with all the happenings, news and updates by keeping in touch with the Rodeo Round Up’s reports from around the country all year long.  This is very easy to do with many options throughout the social media world.
