KMH Bucking Bulls founder and PBR Stock Contractor Kaley Mae Hook is this week’s featured guest on the Rodeo Round Up: Unplugged with Jason “TEX” Hetland. The young beauty is certainly making a name for herself around the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series events. Now that the 2014 PBR World Finals is in the rear view mirror Jason had the chance to sit down and have a conversation with this talented and beautiful stock contractor to talk about everything from how it was growing up and what made her decide to become a stock contractor at such an early age.
Jason and Kaley at the 2014 PBR World Finals Heroes and Legends Event
Believe it or not Kaley Mae Hook knew at a very early age that she wanted to become known as one of the best within the stock contracting business and did everything that she could to make that happen. The young lady opens up into what it is like to be a female stock contractor within the PBR and the respect that the other female contractors have with each other in the male dominated sport of professional bull riding. She wants to set the record straight that the women are respected just as much as the men are in the PBR. Although, she says the female stock contractors do have some sort of a bond that no one else within the business has with each other in the stock contracting part of the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series.
Jason also finds out what it is like, in the mind of a stock contractor, to always be under the microscope of the Director of Livestock for the PBR, Cody Lambert. Kaley says it is always exciting and stressful to make sure the bucking bulls that are invited to the Built Ford Tough Series events perform at the top of their game. As a new stock contractor, being in business for only three years, Kaley was very fortunate to have some of her bulls selected to be a part of several 2014 PBR BFTS events. Even though her bulls participated it did not mean an automatic in to the World Finals Event in Las Vegas. Not only was she asked to bring bulls to the World Finals but one of them was actually selected to participate in the Championship Round on Sunday as well!
This bombshell known as Kaley Mae Hook may look and like to act “girly” everyone in a while be rest assured that she does not mind getting her hands dirty and earning everything that she is given, not only in the PBR but in life as well. You might be shocked at the road she has had to endure to get to where she is today. Coming from high school she was a huge track and field and cross country star and was given a full ride college scholarship in the sport that she grew up perfecting. Knowing that she wanted to eventually become a stock contractor she did not feel right being so far away from home and watching her folks do all the work she was supposed to be doing so she left college after a year and a half. Once home she set her sights on achieving her ultimate goal of owning great bucking bulls and her hard work has gotten her to where she is today.
Kaley Mae Hook is truly a very inspiring women and defines the theory of hard work gets you to where you want to be.
