After a much needed Easter break, the cowboys of the Professional Bull Riders 25th Anniversary Monster Energy Unleash The Beast Tour return to action this weekend in Sioux Falls, South Dakota! As the Denny Sanford Premier Center plays host to some of the best bull riding in the world as the First Premier Bank Premier Bankcard Invitational begins the first of three huge nights of exciting entertainment. That being said, the action and A-list happenings do not stop once the bull riding is done but makes its way over to the event center for two nights of musical entertainment. This year, that will be headlined by the huge country music group Cadillac Three on Friday with the Patriotic Voice of the PBR Ryan Weaver closing out the concert portion on Saturday night. Every year, this is one of the biggest tour stops of the year and the fans in Sioux Falls get to witness some of the very best match-ups and entertainment that the PBR has to offer, making it more of a PBR World Finals feel for three days.
Now that the short one week break is past us, it is now time to make the march towards the end of the first part of the season that begins with the summer break in just over a month from now which may be a major break for some. Looking at this weekend’s event however, we begin to notice a few of those riders that were missing due to injuries make their return to the arena including the most notable riders on that list, Cooper Davis and Jess Lockwood. Even though they both tell the media they are feeling good and are at “100%” their round one match-ups will provide us with the details to exactly how good they are feeling as the bovine athletes that will be placed underneath of them have wreaked havoc on the bull riders that have attempted to do the very same thing that they will try to do here later tonight!

As the time drew near for the first round of the 2018 Premier Band Premier Bankcard Invitational to happen everyone could feel the energy that was brought to Sioux Falls and the look of the top 35 bull riders in the world began to look a little more normal than the last couple of events. Along with Davis and Lockwood returning, we would also be able to welcome back Dakota Eldred along with Emilio Resende and Stormy Wing who is on his last guaranteed event before he is dropped down to the developmental league events. Now, even with all of those top 35 bull riders coming back to action beginning here tonight, there would still be eight other alternates and invitees that will be competing for an event win in Sioux Falls, South Dakota that will fill out the needed 35 spots for the weekend.
From the moment the first latch cracked here earlier tonight, the action was everything that the sold-out crowd could handle all the way through to the very last buck out inside of the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Round one provided all of us with some match-ups that would be unknown as many of the bucking bulls would be making their first appearance at an Unleash The Beast Tour event while others are very new to the sights and sounds of the elite tour. That being said, tonight would be a good tune-up with harder opponents ready to face them the next two nights as ten would be able to make the eight-second buzzer to begin the weekend on a high note. No one could match the heart and try that Jose Vitor Leme would put up after posting a solid 89 point bull ride aboard Owens / Wyatt’s Wild Sky’s to win round one of the Premier Bank Premier Bankcard Invitational to head into Saturday night and the number one man on the leaderboard!

Each and every year we are honored to come back to Sioux Falls we are determined to bring the best that we can to one of the most energetic tour stops that we go to throughout the year and give the great fans all that they want. Not only do we bring the very best in bull riding action but we also try and give this specific event a PBR World Finals feel with top-notch musical entertainment to close out the Friday and Saturday night action. To say that the level of talent is unmatched would not be saying enough as we have seen the likes of Warrant and Joe Nicols along with a few others, but this year would bring maybe the hottest group that has ever graced the stage following the bull riding action that would surely leave the fans wanting more heading into tomorrow night’s round two performance.
Tonight, after the bull riding action was concluded it was time to turn our attention to what the Professional Bull Riders organization brought to Sioux Falls to close out the night musically with one of the top country bands in the nation today. Cadillac Three would take center stage for the next couple of hours as the top 35 bull riders in the world sat alongside the thousands of fans that watched them earlier in the night to enjoy some great country music. The dynamic duo of Cadillac Three have known each other since they were teens and have been playing together for nearly fifteen years mixing a little bit of blues and rock & roll into their country music feel giving the fans and riders a great set of music to share with their friends and unwind from the nights action that we were able to watch earlier!
Now that the first round is concluded, we can finally sit back and analyze what we bared witness to earlier tonight in Sioux Falls as the First Premier Bank First Premier Bankcard Invitational kicked off. After a timely Easter break, many of the top ten bull riders in the world standings took time to begin to heal from injuries sustained throughout the first part of the season while making their returns here this weekend. Many of us speculated if they made their returns too early or if the timing was just right for them to begin another run towards the World Championship title that they all dream of and tonight some of those questions were answered. Although only one round is concluded, there are still two more nights of action with three possible rounds still ahead of them that will tell us all how they are feeling as we head into the second half of the season.
