The PBR In Kansas City Concludes With A Exciting Day Two!

PBR KC

As the seventh stop on the 2016 Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series comes to a close in Kansas City the world title race and early season story lines continue to spark excitement.  For many of the top 35 bull riders in the world this week in particular was a tough one to get by as we look ever so forward to a huge event that is set to take place on Saturday.  AT&T Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas will once again play host to the Choctaw Casino Iron Cowboy, the second major of the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Season.

Just a day before the start of the Kansas City Clash here inside of the Sprint Center a majority of the cowboys from the PBR were in Ft. Worth for their last chance at qualifying for the upcoming RFD-TV’s The American that shares a very exciting weekend of rodeo action with the PBR in Arlington.  Fans and those watching at home could tell that nagging injuries, aches and pains and what lies ahead weighed heavy on each and every one of the contestant’s minds.  Contestants and fans alike are already looking forward to what is about to happen here in a very few short days in Texas.

That being said there was still an event stop to win and world championship points to take as the Kansas City Clash presented by Foley Equipment in conjunction with Sonic.  The Sprint Center was the place to be as new names joined the tour for the first time this year and we draw closer and closer to the first cut that will kick some favorites off tour and bring up some up and coming young superstars.  Today fans were treated to two and a half hours of non-stop action as the fans were treated to some amazing talent from both the cowboys as well as the bovine athletes on display.

The energy inside of the arena was tremendous today as our partners at AVID Visual Imagery were able to be there to capture all of the emotion and excitement that today’s round brought to Kansas City.  After it was all said and done there was a total of 12 bull riders that would be able to make the eight second buzzer and garner a score that would possibly help them make the championship round.  Even with those rides no one could match the effort that Rubens Barbosa put up against New Frontier Rodeo’s Hillbilly that brought a round win with a solid 88.50 point score!

Once scores were tallied and the final rides were completed for round two attention turned to the championship round.  The top 15 bull riders from the first two rounds matched up with some of the toughest bucking bulls on tour this year to see who would be crowned champion.  Everyone knew that it would not be easy for the cowboys to cover their mounts but those that did would be guaranteed a nice piece of the pie and a chance to be called champion.

After all 15 riders took their shot at conquering their bovine partners it was only 5 who would be able to make the buzzer and set themselves above the rest for a share of the world championship points that were up for grabs.  After today;s championship round no body could match what Lachlan Richardson put together to claim victory and take home the much needed points with the round win.  Richardson paired up with J.A.R.S Bucking Bulls / Gene Owen ‘s Pound The Alarm to win the round with a huge 89.50 point ride that set the Sprint Center into a frenzy!

Once all the bulls were placed in the back pens and the fans made their way down to the fences along the arena it was time to celebrate the one man who would be called champion.  Today that honor and title would go to the man that calls Brazil home and knows how to properly celebrate such a great win heading into next week’s Iron Cowboy inside AT&T Cowboy Stadium.  Eduardo Aparecido would put together a fantastic weekend to be crowned the Kansas City Clash Champion for 2016!
