The PBR Built Ford Tough Series Heads To Anaheim This Weekend!

pbr news

As the excitement from last weekend’s Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series event in Oklahoma City is still fresh in our minds, the focus will shift from there to the pacific northwest as we roll into Anaheim, California.  This week will bring us another exciting 3-day event which will take place inside of the Honda Center as the Anaheim Invitational kicks off for the 19th straight year.  This event is usually an early season game changer and sets the tone for the world standings heading into the rest of the year that draws to a close this November in Las Vegas as the 2016 PBR World Finals begin!

After the first three events of the 2016 BFTS season there is an early story developing at an accelerated rate.  The Brazilian contestants are making waves among the best in the business so far this season.  The top five spots in the PBR World Standings are held by these talented athletes after consistently covering their bulls when it counts to gain the much needed championship points to catapult them to the top of the leader board early on in the season.

These Brazilians are riding like they have something to prove this year after J.B. Mauney won the PBR World Championship title after a long and intense battle late last year.  So far this year, through the first three events, it is Paulo Lima who is in the lead (1005 points) while four other Brazilians follow close behind to round out the top five.  Joao Ricardo Vieira (-30 points), last weekend’s event winner Fabiano Vieira (-338.34), Robson Palermo (-355) and Wallace Vieira de Oliveira (-380) round out the top five in the world standings going into this weekend’s Anaheim Invitational.  Can the Brazilians maintain their momentum once the BFTS concludes in Anaheim, California?  The exclusive coverage brought to you by TheRodeoRoundUp.com and AVID Visual Imagery Rodeo Photography begins tomorrow night live from the Honda Center!

One man that will truly be missed and on everyone’s minds will be PBR bullfighter Frank Newsome.  Last weekend he took a nasty kick to the head that knocked him out and made everyone, including the Justin Sports Medicine Team and Dr. Tandy Freeman very nervous.  I am glad to say that it looked much worse than it was and I was able to get Frank to give us an exclusive video update!  See what he himself has to say in this quick little video below!

This year the sold out crowds in Anaheim are guaranteed to see some of the best bull riding in the world as MOST of the top bull riders in the world put in 100% effort to make it to the elusive eight second buzzer.  When I say most that means there will still be some athletes that will not be in competition and that includes last year’s Anaheim Invitational event winner Matt Triplett.  During the PBR Live telecast last weekend we found out that Triplett will make his return to the arena at the end of February at the Iron Cowboy event held in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Cowboy Stadium.  This means that we are guaranteed to crown a new event winner after Sunday afternoon’s Championship Round!
