After the second go round of the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo the Rodeo Round Up team was graciously given tickets to see a true country music legend perform live at the Westgate Hotel and Casino. With so many fantastic musical acts performing at the resort for this year’s festivities the Rodeo Round Up was asked by our host hotel to be their guests at each of the shows this year. Last night we had the chance to see country music icon Sammy Kershaw inside the legendary Elvis Presley Showroom. Not only is it the very same room, as well as stage, that Elvis once performed on but it has kept its look and feel even to this current day. Allowing the showroom to stay small for Vegas standards let this once in a lifetime concert experience become even more intimate and allowed Sammy to personally interact with each and every fan in attendance! All in all it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this hotel’s showroom for a very up close and intimate concert experience.
Although the venue had a classic feel to it I think that it could have been updated a little bit when it comes to the sound department though. When the concert first started it sounded like all the sound was coming from the monitors on stage and felt very “stuffy”. I did notice the sound techs working non stop to correct the problem and by half way through the show the sound seemed to be spot on. With that being said I can not say for sure whether it was the venue or the set up but I will soon find out as the Rodeo Round Up will be attending the Lee Greenwood and John Michael Montgomery concerts this next week. Stay tuned for reviews of those shows as well as nightly recaps of each round of action at the 2014 Wrangler national Finals Rodeo!
