Denny Sandford PREMIER Center Is Ready For Round Two

After the first round of action made history inside of the Denny Sandford Premier Center tonight’s excitement level was raised to a level that the loyal Professional Bull Riders fans have never seen.  This year marked the second year that the elite Built Ford Tough Series made its way to Sioux Falls, South Dakota as the two day event sold out in record time thus adding a third day of bull riding action.  After last night anything was possible as the music started ramping up and the level of anticipation hit a new high.

Everyone that filled the seats to capacity on this Saturday night knew what they were about to witness and could not wait any longer as the customary cowboy introductions began.  As I stood down on the arena floor and looked up to the fans above I could not believe what I was seeing as the fans of the PBR stuffed themselves into the seats and made it official as the second consecutive sold out performance of the 2016 edition of the BFTS stop here in Sioux Falls!

As the action began it was quickly apparent that the sold out crowd would be in for an exciting night of action that would be happening.  Once again this history making weekend included, for the first time in history, six countries that would be represented by some of the very best bull riders in the world.  Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and the U.S. would have contestants that would climb aboard their bovine opponents on their way to qualifying for Sunday afternoon’s Championship Round.

Once things got underway it could be seen that the adrenaline level of the cowboys hit the top of their registers as the sold out crowd was as about as loud as any stop on the tour yet this year.  When the bull riders are that amped up there is sure to be some very exciting things that would happen inside of the arena panels.  Once things slowed down and the dust settled it would be a total of 14 of the top 35 bull riders in the world that would manage to make it to the eight second buzzer that each contestant was looking for.

Gage Gay Wins Splits Two In Dominating Fashion

Although everyone came into tonight’s round two chasing the number one man from last night, Fabiano Vieira, the chase towards Sunday’s Championship Round was wide open.  It was quite remarkable how much determination and effort that was put out by both cowboy and bovine throughout the entire round.  Once things were quieted down on the arena floor and the bull fighters, Ford Safety Men and Flint himself were thanked and exited the arena it was time for the customary walk across the arena to the top of the shark cage for the round two winner’s interview.

Tonight those two men would be non other than Gage Gay and Valdiron de Oliveira.  Coming into round two they both knew what their jobs were and how tough that might prove to be as they climbed over the top of the bucking chute in preparation for each of their eight seconds of glory.  Once the buzzer sounded they would step off as the co-round winners after claiming 87.25 point rides !  I was able to catch up with Gay following his round win earlier tonight to get his thoughts on the event thus far and his huge round two victory.  See what he has to say about the energy that the fans here in Sioux Falls have and how that helps these amazing athletes put out the extra effort and try.
