Round Five Of The WNFR Left Fans Scratching Their Heads!?

round 5 recap photo

The fifth round of the 2015 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is one that is always just a little bit more meaningful than the others.  As the entire rodeo world light up the arena with pink shirts, scarves, pants, hats and anything else they can think of in support of the annual Tough Enough To Wear Pink performance.  Many special presentations and dedications happen during this certain night of the year and this year’s round five was no different!

Over 17,000 dedicated and loyal professional rodeo fans came together inside of the Thomas & Mack Arena tonight to see some of the very best cowboys and cowgirls in the world compete for their chance at a go-round buckle, and in many cases, a chance at securing many World Championship titles that are up for grabs over the 10-day run.  After the performance tonight there were more questions than answers pertaining to that very subject as the races are closer than they have ever been.

Cory Solomon Wins Round 5 Of The 2015 WNFR

Tonight’s Rodeo Round Up spotlight focus is dedicated to the tie-down roping event as things are heating up quite nicely and no one knows who will win the ultimate prize once things are concluded Saturday night.  The action as hot and heavy as these cowboys showed off their quick hands and pushed as hard as they have all finals long.  It was eventually Cory Solomon who made it to the top of the go-round standings putting together a 7.4 second run to take home the money and hardware that came with it!

Jason was able to catch up with your tie-down roping round five winner immediately following his run to find out what he had to say.  We talk about the anticipation of each night as well as what this specific night where we honor those that are affected by the horrible breast cancer disease.  It is very heart warming to hear exactly what he feels and how he is touched by everything that the professional rodeo world does for these folks!  See what he has to say about all of it below.

There are many other World Championship titles that are way too close to call as the last five nights of the 2015 WNFR will be one for the record books.  Tonight in the bareback riding it was Kaycee Feild who took home the win with a 91 point ride while the big Decatur, Texas boy K.C. Jones beat out all others with a 3.3 second time to make the trip to the South Point stage tonight.  In the team roping it was Derrick Begay and Clay O’Brien Cooper along with Coleman Proctor and Jake Long that found the magic and came out splitting the win with times of 4.0 seconds and in the classic event of saddle bronc riding it was CoBurn Bradshaw who wound up on top with a score of 90 points.  The ladies of the barrel racing event blazed a trail but no one could better Nancy Hunter who ran a 13.62 second run to win the round.  Ending out the night was the cowboys of the bull riding event and it was Wesley Silcox who took home the $26,321 payday for first place by making an electrifying 86 point ride!
