Last night’s round six performance was full of fantastic action as the first of eight World Champions were secured. Trevor Brazile was able to wrap up the All-Around World Title, but none of the seven event titles could be announced by the end of the performance. The action in round seven tonight, brought to you by our friends at Doctors of Technology, was much of the same fast runs and great rides which made many of the world title races even closer and the most exciting that they have been this late in the week that it ever has been.
The night started off with a very emotional veteran tribute musical performance by singer/songwriter/recording artist Steve Amerson who wowed the entire sold out crowd inside of the Thomas & Mack Arena. Following his performance was one of my favorite openings of all ten rounds each year at the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The patriotic souls stood loud and proud around the arena as the talented airmen of the Nellis Air Force Base military color guard and vocalist lead us in our nation’s National Anthem!
Ty Wallace Wins Rd 7 Of In The Bull Riding
The Rodeo Round Up’s Spotlight Event tonight will be the rough and tumble sport of professional bull riding! This event has been very trying on the cowboy’s mentality and health throughout the first seven rounds of competition. It seems that each round the riders become fewer and fewer as more injuries happen which leads to the contestants not being able to participate for the remainder of the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. After it was all said and done it was Ty Wallace who claimed a 88 point ride aboard Andrews Rodeo’s Hard Knox to claim his go round win and trip across the South Point Hotel and Casino stage later tonight!
The Rodeo Round Up was able to catch up with the round winner after the performance was concluded and the lights were dimmed inside of the Thomas & Mack to see what he had to say. Ty and Jason talk candidly about his ride, how his body is handling the grind of 10 straight days of the WNFR and what he thinks of the bull power on display this year. Find out everything that he had to say as Jason sits down with him for this exclusive interview brought to you below!
The races in the six other events that are part of the Wrangler National Finals are going to be very interesting to watch after tonight’s round seven performance and those who made their way up the world standings after their wins here this evening. In the bareback riding it was Kaycee Feild who managed a 82.50 point ride to take home the top spot for the third night in a row while in the steer wrestling event it was Tyler Waguespack that put down a blazing 3.2 second run to secure the win tonight.
The team of Trevor Brazile and Patrick Smith squeaked out a much-needed win with a 3.6 second run and Rusty Wright won the classic event of saddle bronc riding with a 83 point ride and in the tie-down roping it was Matt Shiozawa who put down a fantastic 6.7 second run to claim his go-round buckle later this evening. In the barrel racing event, which is being watched closely by many, brought some much-needed excitement as well when Sarah Rose McDonald posted a 13.67 second run to take home the top spot. With all the controversy regarding the condition of the arena dirt it was nice to see some good clean runs laid down tonight!
