Brett Hoffman And Jason Hetland
When you have been covering the sport of professional rodeo for years on end you earn quite the reputation and a name for yourself among your peers throughout the country. This is exactly what Brett Hoffman has done throughout his career covering the ins and outs of the sport that we all love and follow very closely. It is always an honor to be able to sit down and talk with this media legend and get his takes on some of the things that are happening within our industry from year to year.
I had the fortune of being able to get some quality time with him at the 2015 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo this past December. There have been many interesting and note worthy things going on within the industry which is causing quite a stir throughout the ranks and to get his take on all of this was something very special. While talking to Brett Hoffman I realized his true love for the sport and what he brings to the table with each and every article that he writes in his weekly column.

This past October Brett Hoffman received a very special award courtesy of the Professional Bull Riders organization as part of the 2015 PBR Built Ford Tough Series World Finals. The Jim Shoulders Lifetime Acheivement Award was given to this Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame Member for his contributions to the sport. Hoffman has written a column for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for over a quarter of a century and has been actively involved in many factions of the sport of rodeo ever since he can remember.
Jason was able to get a few minutes of Brett’s time while covering the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo along with him. It was very humbling to know that a media legend like Hoffman thought highly of the myself and my entire Rodeo Round Up staff. We had a chance to talk about his award as well as all the interesting things that are happening within the sport of professional rodeo. Listen below to find out what he thinks about all of it and what it could do the the sport as a whole!
