Records Fall In Round Three Of The 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo

After a wonderful two days of excitement, the entire Rodeo Round Up team took some time off today, if there is any such thing, to begin our journies throughout the different shopping experiences that are available around town.  On our first day out and about, we made our way over to the Las Vegas Convention Center to partake in the Cowboy Christmas culture and to take time to stop by and say hello to a few of our friends that have set up shop there for the next eight days.

While walking around we noticed many things which we have known from year’s past but could tell that many others were experiencing for the first time here in Las Vegas.  Although the main focus for many may be the outstanding shopping experience that Cowboy Christmas gives the fans here this year, one can also get some very up close and personal time with many of the legends of the sport even though they may not be competing here at the 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.  We were able to meet up with a few of them ourselves as we made our way through the masses earlier this afternoon.

After heading back to our host hotel, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, to get freshened up and ready for another great night of rodeo action we had many choices on where to focus our attention on Saturday night.  Once decided, we would make our way across the street to the Tropicana Hotel and Casino to check out another official 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Viewing Party.  Tonight, that would be in the same ballroom as the legendary Gary Leffew Buck’ N Ball would take place just a short time later.

From the moment we walked into the showroom we quickly noticed that we were surrounded by some of the greatest athletes in the sport of professional rodeo that all conversed upon this viewing party to watch the exciting action for themselves.  Not only were we in awe of those that rodeo superstars that were there but we also noticed many of the Bull Fighters Only bullfighters hanging around as well, since they put on their own little show at 2 P.M. daily throughout the run of the 10-day event.  All in all, it was another fun and memorable night as we watched history being made in round three of the 2017 WNFR!

Once the opening ceremonies of the third round of the 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo concluded, that included Las Vegas entertainer Terry Fator singing our nation’s National Anthem, it was time to get to the task at hand.  Once again tonight, we had seven beautiful Montana Silversmith belt buckles to give out to the go-round winners immediately following the conclusion of the competition.  That being said, before that could happen there was plenty of professional rodeo action to take place.

From the moment the first event began, many of the fans in our viewing party were filled with anticipation as tonight’s round three performance was one that would break more than one record.  It all began with Tim O’ Connell tying the arena record in the bareback event but that would be trumped a couple of hours later.  When the cowgirls of the WPRA took center stage, the arena record was broken twice in one night by both Kassie Mowry (13.36) and later by WNFR Rookie Hailey Kinsel that would blow the roof of the Thomas & Mack with a blazing run herself (13.11)!  Relive her history-making run by watching it in the link below and celebrate with her all over again.
