Pro Rodeo HOF Adds A Few More Inductees In 2016

At the beginning of August each year there is a very special weekend within the sport of professional rodeo that happens.  All eyes are on Colorado Springs, Colorado as the Pro Rodeo Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place to bestow the highest honor of being enshrined as some of the very best in the business.  It is an action packed weekend that many of us on the professional rodeo industry look forward to all year long.  Not only is it a time to gather and see many great friends but it is time to place the inductees into their permanent home for many years to come.

This year’s inductees include many professional rodeo athletes as well as some of the best equine athletes that have ever stepped foot inside of a rodeo arena.  On that note, along with the contestants and livestock that were honored this year there were several rodeo performance committees that were given the distinction of being inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame as well this year.  All in all many of the greatest factions in the world got their well deserved recognition that will be in the spotlight for many years to come!

Among the inductees for 2016 were 1988 All-Around World Champion Dave Appleton, 1981 Steer Wrestling World Champion Arnold Felts, 1972 Bull Riding World Champion John Quintana, 1969 Team Roping World Champion Jerold Camarillo and 1945 Bareback Riding World Champion Bud Linderman.  Also included this year were two equine athletes; steer wrestling horse Scottie and famous saddle bronc horse and sire Gray Wolf.  Two others honored were notable Myrtis Dightman and legendary rodeo announcer Phil Gardenhire.
