When people think of what a weekend full of rodeo and bull riding is about they begin to look forward to the action that they will be seeing inside of the arena. For 82 straight years the Las Vegas Elks Club has played host to one of the longest running outdoor Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s events, The Helldorado Days Rodeo. As the years have passed and the once iconic event started to fall by the wayside those in charge knew that something spectacular had to be done to re-energize the atmosphere as they continue to look into the future.
Many interesting and eye brow raising changes are happening all across the western sports industry which opened the door for a truly amazing event to unfold as the 2016 Helldorado Days Celebration and Rodeo began earlier this evening. That being said we are going to focus on the rodeo fan base and the opportunities that they have during this entire weekend as Las Vegas opens its city once again to the millions of loyal rodeo fans. There is always something going on and opportunities to be had when a rodeo or professional bull riding comes to town!
This year, much like in years past, this classic event begins with different “wild west” themes that adds a custom flair to this three day PRCA sanctioned rodeo event. Each day all of the entertainment begins with a huge parade that travels through downtown Las Vegas and ends in front of the Helldorado Days rodeo grounds. Along with all of the excitement that a parade can bring to young and old alike many other things are happening throughout the city and festival grounds.
One of the new additions to this years event is an undertaking that was inspired by Sean Gleason, CEO of the Professional Bull Riders. For many years as a child he had dreamed of being able to combine the best of the best across all aspects of the western sports industry. This year to rejuvenate the 82nd annual Helldorado Days Rodeo these two powerhouse organizations joined forces. During the day fans can enjoy professional rodeo action followed by a night of bull riding action as the PBR brings its “Last Cowboy Standing” event to the forefront as well.
Not only will fans be treated to some amazing professional rodeo and bull riding action but the concert stage inside of the festival grounds will be alive and kicking as well. After all is said and done later this evening it will be time for some of the greatest legends in country music to entertain the massive crowds braving the elements to witness history here in Las Vegas. Tonight will not end quietly as the party will just be getting started and will take over Sin City for the rest of the weekend!
Just as the rodeo and bull riding rosters are stacked to the gills so is the musical talent that will be taking the Cooper Tires Saloon stage at this year’s Helldorado Days event. Those fans in attendance can expect to see musical icons such as Justin McBride, T.J. Sheppard, Wynn Varble and Kelly Lang. If that list is not enough to get your engines going the headliner for this three day event will be non other than Moe Bandy who will feel right at home each night following the rodeo and bull riding action.
The entire Rodeo Round Up team will be live in Las Vegas this entire weekend to bring you nightly recaps from the 82nd annual Las Vegas Elk’s Club Helldorado Days Festival and Rodeo.
