PBR Returns To Thackerville For Some Outdoor Action!

PBR page picture

After a blazing start to the second half of the season the world championship race is the closest it has ever been this late in the season.  While the top five places could change with an eight second ride, a couple of these elite bull riders are working through the pain while others are rolling the dice and sitting out of this weekend’s event in Thackerville, Oklahoma.  This event is much different that any other throughout the year as the cowboys of the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series have the heat and weather elements to contend with while chasing the gold and silver belt buckle that will be awarded this November.

Like I said before many riders are fighting through the pain in order to gain a spot in the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas.  One the other side of the fence is a young superstar that is quickly becoming a fan favorite wherever the PBR lands from week to week.  Cooper Davis came into tonight’s round one just a mere 20 points out of the number one position in the world in his sophomore season on the elite Built Ford Tough Series.  Everyone was wondering if he could continue his dominance into this weekend’s event and tonight set the tone for how things were going to go!

As round one began tonight here at the WinStar World Casino and Resort all eyes were focused on the world championship race and the two contestants that are pushing their way to Las Vegas.  Brazilian Kaique Pacheco was atop the leader board but a young American superstar is making his presence known and Cooper Davis is surging his way to the number one spot after 2 straight event wins in as many weeks.

Tonight it would be the match-up of Cooper Davis and Kaique Pacheco that would steal the show in round one earlier tonight.  After an exciting competition it would be Cooper Davis who would take over the number one spot in the world by a mere two point margin heading into the Championship Sunday rounds.  Along with this war of wills were 33 other top bull riders in the world that put on a great round on bull riding action here tonight.  After all was said and done it was Guilherme Marchi who would take home the round to set the stage for Sunday afternoon’s championship rounds.  Take a look at the complete list of round scores to keep track of your favorite cowboys throughout the entire event!

After all the round one action concluded here in Thackerville it was time to watch the top fifteen bull riders in the world match up with the rankest bucking bulls that Cody Lambert could find.  The special 15/15 Bucking Battle gave those in contention for the number one spot a chance to gain some much needed points to either shoot them up the standings or pad the lead that they had going into it.  That being said it seems like every cowboy knew what was on the line and gave a 110% effort each and every ride.

Once the excitement died down, those in attendance here this weekend sat in ah trying to comprehend what had just happened moments ago down on the arena floor.  As we saw tonight these rounds of competition can make or break your dreams of heading to the T-Mobile Arena as the PBR calls it their new home for the World Finals.  All in all there were three of the top fifteen bull riders in the world that would be able to obtain 8 second qualified rides and earn some much needed world championship points here in Thackerville.

No one could top the effort of Australian bull rider Lachlan Richardson after he put together a ride to the tune of 92.25 points aboard J.A.R.S Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen’s Seven Dust.  The only other riders to be able to make it to the whistle in the 15/15 round tonight tied with scores of 88 points.  Eduardo Aparecido and young gun Jess Lockwood would be those lucky riders to be able to take home some much needed world championship race points.
