Earlier tonight the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series rolled into the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  After a grueling event just a week ago in Nashville, Tennessee it was time for the cowboys to either make or break their seasons as we inch closer to the 2016 PBR World Finals this coming November in Las Vegas.  That being said tonight’s round one was one that many of the loyal fans of the PBR would remember as a round that would squarely belong to the bovine athletes.

Along with the first round of competition that began the Saturday night’s events would be another chance for the top fifteen bull riders in the world to gain some much needed championship points.  One of the most anticipated rounds of many tour stops throughout the year is the iconic 15/15 Bucking Bull Challege that pits the top riders in the world with the rankest bucking bulls in the business.  As you can well imagine there would not be many rides but the excitement inside the arena was at an all time high as this round began.

When round one began tonight the cowboys of the PBR knew what they had lying ahead of them as the opening ceremonies began.  After a brutal event just seven days ago it was time to focus and figure out how to right the wrongs and earn some much needed points and the confidence that they would need to finish out the second half of the season on a strong  and positive note.  It is safe to say that those who had success last weekend are going on a mid season surge to make a run at the world championship title.

Tonight it would only be 13 of the top 35 bull riders in the world that would manage to stay atop their bovine competitors to earn a qualified ride after a gut wrenching 8 second ride.  After things were all said and done it would be two cowboys that would share the top spot after the first round performance here at the Tulsa Express Employment Professionals Classic.  That honor would be shared by last week’s winner Cooper Davis and Lachlan Richardson who each put up a very respectable 87.75 rides.

After the action was concluded as part of the first round it was time for the top 15 bull riders in the world to ride in another 15/15 Bucking Battle to see who would have what it takes to earn some much needed extra championship points.  Early on it was evident that the superior bull power that the respected stock contractors brought into the Oklahoma night.  Once the last bull had bucked out there was not much at all for the cowboys to cheer about unless you were one very excited Brazilian.

In tonight’s 15/15 there would be only one ride and that would be non other than Brazilian sensation Joao Ricardo Vieira.  While being in the spotlight for the NETFLIX documentary series “Fearless” he has put his best foot forward and is showing the world exactly why he is one of the very best in the business.  With only four riders remaining it would be Joao who would put up an 81.25 point ride to be the only rider to earn that distinction and take home the much needed win.
