The PBR Heads Into Championship Sunday Following Round 2 In OKC Tonight!

PBR OKC

The excitement inside of the Chesapeake Energy Arena tonight was nothing but electrifying as the top 35 bull riders in the world put on a show for the thousands of energetic fans witnessing the action live in Okalhoma City!  As round one ended last night there were storylines that were starting to develop and certain bull riders were demanding the attention of all those involved in the Professional Bull Riders organization early on in the 2016 Built Ford Tough Season.

This weekend the bull power started to ramp up quite a bit which continued tonight that allowed for some very exciting and dramatic rides as well as many buck offs as the bovine athletes showed their power to the entire world.  If tonight is any indication as to what Cody Lambert, the director of livestock for the PBR, has in store for the 2016 season we are in for a treat.  All eyes will be on the bucking bulls tomorrow as last year’s bucking bull world title contenders take center stage in the championship round and the AVID Visual Imagery Rodeo Photography team is there to capture the action for us here at TheRodoeRoundUp.com!

J.B. Mauney Wins Round 2 in OKC Aboard Hou’s Back

Even though the bulls reigned supreme tonight there were still many great rides that made the fans inside of the Chesapeake Energy Arena stand up and cheer as the cowboys celebrated down on the arena dirt.  Tonight there were a total of 13 cowboys that were able to stay atop of their opponent to gain a much needed eight second ride and some much needed season standing points if they managed to be within the top seven scores of the round.

Once all of the 35 top bull riders in the world either stepped off after the buzzer or hit the dirt unceremoniously there was only one man that stood atop everyone else by claiming the second go round win of the Express Employment Professionals Invitational.  Defending World Champion J.B. Mauney managed to fair better than his bull Hou’s Back from Western Star/TM Cattle Co. for a qualified 87.75 point ride.

As we look ahead to tomorrow’s round three and championship rounds we will witness the first outs of the 2015 World Champion Bucking Bull contenders since the last day of the 2015 PBR World Finals a few short months ago.  The title race will look a little different with the new changes that were made earlier this year by the newly formed PBR Executive Competitions Committee.  If you are wondering what we are talking about we will feature a story about this much needed change as to how bucking bulls are picked to be in the running for that title.

Until then let’s concentrate on the task at hand and that is claiming the event title tomorrow afternoon.  Our AVID Visual Imagery Rodeo Photography team will be live bringing all the up-to-the-minute stats and breaking news from inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena courtesy of our good friends at Run Ranger Run!  We are excited to partner with another veteran owned organization that helps bring awareness to the unseen needs of our men and women coming back from combat protecting our freedoms that we have as American citizens!
