PBR Bull Riders Heat Up NYC For The Second Straight Night!

Last night the top 35 bull riders in the world came into New York City with one thing on their minds and did exactly as they had planned.  The sold out crowd inside of the Madison Square Gardens Arena came to witness some of the greatest bull riding in the world and did not leave disappointed.  Once things were all said and done there were 16, nearly half of the roster, that would be able to last the entire eight seconds needed to gain a qualified ride and carry a score into tonight’s second round of action here at the Monster Energy Buck Off At The Garden event!

Tonight the atmosphere would continue to raise the energy in the “Big Apple” and inside of the historic Madison Square Gardens complex.  After a night where half of the bull riders rode their bulls the expectations of what was about to come in round three was raised up a notch for another great performance by both the bull riders and their bovine athletes that they were competing against.  Everyone knew what was about to happen as the lights dimmed on the arena and the pyrotechnics began to shine to signify the beginning of the second round of action here in New York City!

Throughout the winter break much attention was placed on a few of the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series cowboys and the choices they have made for the 2017 season.  Mason Lowe and Shane Proctor are just a couple of those names that have raised some controversy by deciding to ride in both the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Built Ford Tough Series.  The mixed reviews have come from every angle as the discussion began on if this will hurt or help those athletes that have decided to split their time between both organizations.

Last night, the Grand Coulee, Washington cowboy, Shane Proctor, began his 2017 PBR season bucking off of his bull which sent him to the locker room fuming with anger.  Tonight however, Proctor came into the opening ceremonies a much more determined man and had his sights set on obtaining his first qualified ride of the 2017 PBR BFTS season.  The bovine athlete that was not able to give him what he was looking for was non-other than K-C Bucking Bulls / TCB Ranch’s Ante Up which sent him into tomorrow night’s final rounds on a low note after bucking off early once again in a time of 6.63 seconds.

Once things were all said and done as the second round of the Monster Energy Buck Off At The Garden came to an end the sold out crowd, once again, left feeling like they had seen some of the best compete on the arena below.  Each and every year that the Professional Bull Riders come to Madison Square Gardens the energy and excitement they bring to town is contagious.  If the first two rounds tell us anything, the finals rounds of competition tomorrow afternoon should be something you should not miss if you are a bull riding fan!

Tonight the bull riders of the PBR had their hands full as some of the new up and coming bucking bulls showed what they had and gave the cowboys all that they could handle on a Saturday night.  Once the last bull was hustled out of the arena the final count came in telling us that 12 of the top bull riders in the world managed to bring a second round score into tomorrow afternoon’s final rounds.  That being said, it was one man that would stand atop the shark cage as the second go-round winner.  Fabiano Vieira would earn a solid 87.50 point ride aboard K-C / Josie McElroy Bucking Bulls / Spark-lin Acres’ Rocco and carry out a huge paycheck and some world championship title points on his way to hopefully win the first event of the 2017 PBR season tomorrow afternoon.

Throughout the first two rounds here in New York City has provided enough excitement to last for another 365 days until we come back again.  Fortunately, all of us still have another round of competition to fuel the excitement that much more.  Tomorrow afternoon’s final rounds of action will crown our first event champion of the 2017 season as well as draw to a close the PBR’s first official “major” event of the year.  Whoever wins that title will take home a huge paycheck that will set them apart from all the others behind him as we look ahead to the Chicago stop next weekend!
