The PBR Barges Into Colorado Springs For This Weekend’s BFTS Tour Stop

pbr-colorado-springs-recap

This weekend the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series returns to Colorado Springs and will carry on the tradition of the Rumble In The Rockies legacy they bring with them.  After an intense tour stop last week in North Carolina the world championship race is shaping up quite nicely.  Current world number one, Kaique Pacheco, took home the victory and widened his lead over the number three man J.B. Mauney.  World number two, Cooper Davis, is out of action but is planning on his return in the next week or two to reclaim his number one spot he had to relinquish after sustaining a broken collar bone earlier this year.

All that being said there was action outside of the Broadmoor World Arena tonight as well.  The always anticipated Bullevard Bash got the fans in the right frame of mind for what they would witness during tonight’s round one action of the “Rumble In The Rockies” event, the 22nd stop in the Built Ford Tough Series tour out of the 27 stops scheduled for the 2016 season.  Music by the Josh Abbott Band and a party atmosphere got the fans pumped up as the doors opened to begin the first round of competition.

As the action was set to kick off here in Colorado Springs the excitement in and around the Broadmoor World Arena was at an all time high.  Along with the excitement of the fans those behind the scenes were sitting quietly with the same intensity but in a silent and collective fashion.  The top 35 bull riders in the world knew what was at stake and what they were chasing at the end of the season as we look to finalize the standings and find out who will make it to the 2016 PBR World Finals

Once the lights were dimmed the massive light show began, the music kicked up a few notches, and the fire shined bright on the arena floor as the opening ceremonies were set to begin.  Once all of the pop and circumstance was concluded it was time to buck some bulls and let the top 35 bull riders in the world take their turns at the top bovine athletes travelling down the road today match up to see who was going to reign supreme during the first round of competition.

Tonight the action was hot and heavy from the very first out as the top stock contractors in the professional bull riding business brought some of their best bovine athletes for the cowboys to see what they could do.  All the way through the first round each and every match-up was put to the test to see who could stand atop the mountain as the go round leader heading into the Championship Sunday performance tomorrow afternoon.  That being said, there would only be 9 riders who would manage to conquer their opponents to claim some event points along with some season championship points as well.

When all was said and done and and action had concluded down on the dirt floor it would be one man that would be standing atop the shark cage in the center of the arena as Matt West began his interview.  Ryan Dirteater would have what it took to claim the the top ride in round one where 8 others managed to follow suit.  After his monster ride tonight things look great for this cowboy heading into tomorrow afternoon’s final two rounds of competition.  I guess the saying goes when you are hot you’re hot!!

After an exciting round one earlier tonight it was evident that the top 35 bull riders in the world were hungry and doing anything they could do to rise up the leader board late in the season.  After this weekend there are only 4 more stops before we head to Las Vegas and see who will become World Champion at the conclusion of the PBR World Finals.  This year’s race is as tight as it has ever been and it is guaranteed that nothing will be decided until that fateful Championship Sunday performance inside of the T-Mobile Arena!
