J.B. Mauney Keeps Breaking PBR Records!!

Stop number two on the 2014 Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series season had a chance to be record breaking and the fans knew it with the ticket sales showing that as well.  Night number one inside the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois did end up being record breaking for one of the tours most popular riders.

2013 PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney

2013 PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney came into the night with 15 consecutive rides which was tied with the long-standing record set years ago by bull rider Terry Don West.

Fans were on the edge of their seats as J.B. Mauney climbed over the bucking chutes for a chance to take the record away from the retired veteran cowboy.  The fans along with everyone associated with the event knew what was about to happen.  They all knew that in a mere 8 seconds history could and, in most people’s minds, would be made.

J.B. climbed aboard his bull Kiss Destroyer owned by Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve for what was to be an attempt at his 16th consecutive ride which would set yet another record for this young World Champion.  Once the chute gate opened the crowd erupted for 8 seconds of non stop action.  Once the whistle sounded the entire arena could not be calmed down and the noise could have blown the roof off the place.

Not only were the fans excited but every bull rider, bull fighter, announcer, crew and employee of the Professional Bull Riders were elated for the young American.  His ride was a great one as well with a nice first round score of 85.75 coming in for a well placed position going into night number two in Chicago.

Remember folks J.B. Mauney split the win last week in New York City and is sitting good to take home his second win of the season in as just as many tour stops.  I have a feeling that this year will once again be record-breaking for this young man if he can stay healthy throughout the entire year!!

Please go to  The Rodeo Round Up’s Facebook page to see video of his historic 16th consecutive ride.  I hope that you will remember this as I know J.B. and his entire family will for many years to come!
