“Hollywood” Don Yates

Many folks may not remember the name of old school bull fighting legend “Hollywood” Don Yates within the spectrum of the rodeo world but may know of him in a different sense.  Hollywood had not stepped foot inside of a rodeo arena and laced up a pair of cleats for the last nine years but this past week that all changed.  He wanted to come back into the arena and show the new up and comers that the old timers still had what it takes to put on a great show for all of the rodeo fans in attendance.

While Yates is a legend inside of the rodeo arena he has made quite the name for himself outside of the arena as well.  He made history on the old time reality game show “American Gladiators”.  He was one of the toughest and well respected Gladiators of all time from the moment he was introduced to television and the contestants as “Wolf”.  He played that character well and still to this day uses his famous mouth full of water spraying in the air to begin every bull fight!

Although he has been out of the bull fighting world for many years he decided to lace up his cleats and step back in front of a fighting bull once again when he was asked to come to Vegas for the BFO event held in conjunction with the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.  He brought back the old school bull fighter look and mentality and brought back the original feel into the arena once again.  Jason caught up with this fan favorite to talk about what it meant to step into the arena again the significance of what outfit he is wearing each and every bull fight here in Vegas.  Watch the video interview below to see what he has to say!
