Professional photographer Simon King
The Rodeo Round Up is excited to announce a kickstarter campaign for a near and dear friend. This project will take you inside the life of a professional rodeo cowboy by giving you professional photographs of some of the biggest names in the sport. This book, “Cowboy Up, A Photobook Project”, will make you feel the triumphs and tragedies in each of the photos that will be published.
Photographer Simon King has gained a unique and undying admiration for the American cowboy and cowgirl athletes that are travelling up and down the road trying to make a living and to be able to participate at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas at the end of the season. This book will be a fantastic and must have piece for the avid rodeo fan and even those wanting to learn about the sport that we all love.
Below is a video marketing campaign that includes some of the wonderful photographs that have been taken so far that are being considered for publishing. I hope that you enjoy these photos as much as we did here at the Rodeo Round Up. By reading his story on his kickstarter page you can see he is taking this very seriously and he has the backing of some very well known folks within the photography industry!
I spoke to Simon last night prior to writing this story and to hear the inspiration and enthusiasm in his voice will make anyone excited to be a part of this project. Simon said, ” Almost every photographer has a dream to one day publish their own book and have it feature images they’ve captured of an incredible subject. For me, I don’t just want to create a book I want to use this as a chance to raise funds and awareness for children’s charities in the UK and USA. “Cowboy Up” is going to capture the spirit of the American Cowboy from ranch to rodeo in every way “. If you don’t see the drive this man has to complete this project you will just have to stay tuned and see what it will be in the end. He goes on to say, “Giving back is something that I feel really fits in with the spirit of the term Cowboy Up and I truly hope that this project helps me to do so on a bigger scale than anything I have done in the past. The Cowboys and Cowgirls that have helped me while creating the Kickstarter project have been amongst the most warm hearted yet determined individuals I have had the pleasure to meet. I hope that this project brings these amazing athletes to the attention of a wider audience in the UK and the rest of Europe.”
Remember folks, he can not do this alone and needs all the backers and supporters he can get so please think about helping him out on his journey by visiting his Kickstarter page and make a donation here. He has put together a wonderful video with some of the photographs taken so far so make sure to go check it out. Simon will continue to post updates to let everyone know how the project is coming along. As well as the updates he will post some photographs that will be published in the book from time to time on his facebook fan page here.
