It was announced to the Rodeo Round Up today that the RFD-TV’s The American will happen once again inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas! The richest one day rodeo in the history of the sport will return March 1, 2015 and will once again be a guaranteed $2 million dollar payout to the contestants that are participating. Contestants will compete against each other through qualifiers, semi-finals and World Finals competitions for their chance to compete at the home of the Dallas Cowboys!
Randy Bernard, Rural Media Group’s President and CEO says, “We reached all the goals we set for the inaugural AMERICAN and we’re ready to raise the bar for the next one.” He also goes on to say, “Support from our viewers and rodeo fans has been pouring in and it’s thanks to them and our sponsors that THE AMERICAN will happen again.”
The Marketing Manager for Polaris Ranger, Beth Shimanski, was proud to announce their sponsorship once again by stating, “Polaris RANGER was proud to be part of the first-ever AMERICAN rodeo.” She goes on to say, “We are thrilled to continue our sponsorship for 2015 and look forward to another spectacular event showcasing the amazing talent, hard work and dedication these athletes bring to this amazing sport.”
Tune in to RFD-TV for a 1-hour LIVE Special Road to THE AMERICAN at 8 p.m. (ET).P.M. Justin McKee will speak to Rural Media Group CEO and President, Randy Bernard, and Polaris RANGER Marketing Specialist, Chris Vogtman. Along with those two the show will include some of your favorite contestants from last year’s competition: 2014 THE AMERICAN Bareback Champion, Richmond Champion and 2014 THE AMERICAN Tie-Down Champion Tyson Durfey.
Along with the qualifiers which will give athletes a bid to the semi-finals RFD-TV and Polaris are expanding the opportunities to all the young up and coming athletes within the sport of professional rodeo. In a press release sent out by Rural Media Group it says, “RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN is committed to invigorating the sport and building a brighter future for today’s youth. To help accomplish this, a new path has been added to the road to THE AMERICAN. An automatic bid into the Semifinals will be awarded to each event champion of the 7 traditional event champions of the National High School Rodeo Finals held in Rock Springs, Wyoming July 13-19.”
This is a huge announcement and, once again, introduces a way to make a lasting impression within the sport that we all love so dearly. After last years event exceeded everyone’s expectations Randy Bernard and the crew at RFD-TV and Rural Media Group have come out swinging again for the 2015 event.
RFD-TV’s The American will once again be held in conjunction with the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series event the Iron Cowboy VI. This event will be held the night before on February 28, 2015 also inside the legendary AT&T Stadium. The PBR’s Chairman and CEO Jim Haworth says, “Combining the PBR’s popular Iron Cowboy event with THE AMERICAN gave our fans the ultimate two-day western sports competition,” said PBR Chairman and CEO Jim Haworth. “The best PBR bull riders in the world were showcased on one day and rodeo’s most talented athletes on the next each presented on the world’s greatest stage – AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The sanctioning bodies for the qualifiers are: Better Barrel Races, Professional Bull Riders, Professional Rough Stock Series, Ultimate Calf Roping and United States Team Roping Championships. The list as of this announcement has been released as to where contestants can go around the country to have a chance at getting qualified for the richest one day rodeo with a payout of $2 Million Dollars!
