The Professional Bull Riders organization announced yesterday that there will be a couple of chances to see 2-time World Champion Bucking Bull Bushwacker perform over the summer break. This bovine athlete is on his farewell tour within the Built Ford Tough Series during the 2014 season. There have been many notable competitors withing the sport of professional bull riding that have said they have never seen a bull like this before and will be very sad to see him go but will be very honored to be able to witness his last buck out at the 2014 Professional Bull Riders World Finals in October at the Thomas & Mack while in Las Vegas, NV.
Bushwacker’s owner Julio Moreno is having another year to remember as his legendary bucking bull’s fan base grows by leaps and bounds everyday. The farewell tour will mean more than anything to Moreno on Championship Sunday at the World Finals as that will be the last time that Bushwacker will come out of the bucking chutes before retirement and a chance to live the life of luxury. I had the chance to sit down with Julio Moreno while covering the American and Iron Cowboy events at AT&T Stadium earlier this year. During our interview we talked specifically about what Bushwacker has meant to him, when fans can see him buck throughout the year and what he has in store for his best friend after his retirement later this year. Below you can hear what he had to say about all of that!
Now to the exciting part of the story for those of you that will not have the chance to see this great animal buck during any of the Built Ford Tough Series events he has left. The Professional Bull Riders have announced that Bushwacker will buck a couple of times during the summer break and will once again make history while doing it. He will buck out in North Dakota as well as owner Julio Moreno’s home state of California.
The first time you can see him over summer break will be in Bismark, North Dakota while bucking out at Chad Berger’s DCB PBR Bull Riding Challenge June 13-14 inside the Bismark Civic Center. Bushwacker is set to take on 4-time Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Bull Riding World Champion J.W. Harris in a very special match-up. The only other chance you will get to see him buck will be at the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Event held in Santa Barbara, California inside the Earl Warren Showgrounds on July 31st.
