It was announced yesterday that another legendary bucking bull from the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series, Asteroid, is set to retire following the Iron Cowboy VI event February 28th inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  Circle T Ranch & Rodeo’s owner Jeff Talley made this huge announcement after Asteroid failed to appear at the BFTS event in Oklahoma City which started the speculation of this announcement happening sometime soon.

This eight year old bucking bull has had a very memorable career within the PBR BFTS including being named World Champion Bucking Bull in 2012.  Even though he has only claimed one World Title he has had his name in the hunt for numerous other years and has come close many times as well.  In 2011, 2013 and 2014 this great bovine athlete was in the championship hunt claiming runner up in 2 of those three years (2011 and 2013).

Asteroid will not be the only bovine athlete retiring from in arena action following the Iron Cowboy VI event.  Both Jack Daniels After Party and Shepherd Hills Trapper will also make their last in arena appearance in the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series on February 28th.  This leads to a lot of talk about what bulls will step up in the next few years to take the place of the numerous legends we will be losing throughout the 2015 season starting in just a couple of weeks.
