With the 2014 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association seasons coming to an end many contestants are waiting to see if they have made their way back to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada in December. For many of these contestants it will not be their “first rodeo” per say but for some it will be their rookie year qualifying for their first experience of being a part of the “Superbowl” of rodeo, the WNFR! All year long there were a lot of stories to follow including the ranch accident of Cody Ohl and what that might do to his chances of qualifying for his 20th career Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. There were many non-believers but did he silence them or prove them right? Find out in the published list below of the 2014 WNFR qualifiers. Another cowboy that came on scene with a bang was bareback rider Richmond Champion who changed his entire career on March 1st. After winning $1.1 million dollars at the inaugural RFD-TV’s The American this cowboy has never looked back and has fought his way to his first WNFR qualification, although I have a feeling this will be only the first of many for this talented cowboy!
All of your questions on which cowboys and cowgirls qualified or just missed out on this year’s WNFR will be answered in the all inclusive list of those that will be included in this year’s performance inside the Thomas & Mack. As you look through the list of qualifiers you may be very surprised not to see some of your favorite’s as much as to see who made it this year after adversities that some contestants have had to overcome to make it back. Along with the list of seasoned veterans there are many first time contestants making their first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo appearance after qualifying for the 2014 edition. Below is a complete and comprehensive list of all those competing and the overall Rookie of the Year standing and All Around Cowboy standings going into the WNFR! The Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association has confirmed the full list of those contestants that have gained their way into a Wrangler National Finals qualification but they are not able to finalize this following list until to is checked over and made “official” but this is what was given by the office pending an independent audit.
*These standings are pending both audit and appeals, and are not official until certified by the PRCA’s auditing firm**
