Tim O’Connell Becomes The 2016 PRCA Bareback Riding World Champion

Moments ago a bareback rider from the Midwest, specifically Zwingle, Iowa, secured his first ever Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association Bareback Riding World Championship title.  The Iowa cowboy had a dominating performance throughout the entire ten-day run that we call the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after covering each horse that was put underneath of him.  Along with going a perfect 10-for-10 he also split a go-round win and place in 6/7 other rounds securing him the event average title as well!

I was able to catch up with the new world champion last night after it was announced he had in fact secured the title prior to even heading into round ten here earlier tonight.  O’Connell is about as humble of a cowboy as they come and wanted to make sure to give credit where credit was do, and that was to give the other fourteen men inside of the locker room some recognition as well.  If this does not show the meaning of rodeo family I do not know what does!

A huge congratulations goes out the the newly crowned PRCA Bareback Riding World Champion Tim O’Connell from all of us here at the Rodeo Round Up!  Take a listen below to hear from you new world champion for yourselves and find out what he has to say about his 2016 season and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
