The Rodeo Round Up Team Is Ready For Arlington, Texas Events This Weekend!

AT&T Stadium

Jason and his entire Rodeo Round Up team have settled in and are anxiously awaiting the arrival days of the Professional Bull Riders Association’s Iron Cowboy VI and the 2nd annual RFD-TV’s The American to be held in just a short couple of days inside the house that Jerry Jones built, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas!  Our entire team will be bringing you the latest news, notes and updates from all the happenings involved in this huge weekend starting with the breaking news to be announced tomorrow during a joint press conference.  What will it be and who will in involve?  We want to know too so stay with the Rodeo Round Up as we will bring you the announcement as soon as it is made known to us!

The weekend’s events will start out on Saturday evening with the Professional Bull Rider’s Iron Cowboy VI which will have a very different feel from all previous years due to some event rule changes that will make this special event much more interesting and will make the contestants give everything they gave to be crowned the winner and will move on to face this year’s bounty bull, Asteroid, who will retire following the event’s conclusion.

This year’s Iron Cowboy is being presented by the Choctaw Casino and Resort and will bring a different feel to the competition.  While the bracket type system of year’s past was fun to watch the PBR had thoughts about how they could make the event better and more competitive and boy did they come up with a great plan!  The rules are very simple for the cowboys, there will be a minimum of two rounds and a maximum of five rounds of competition.  Each rider will have a chance to ride their bull to move onto the next round.  If the rider gets bucked off prior to the 8 second whistle he is out of the Iron Cowboy immediately.  I think this will make the contestants put out the extra effort needed to stay in the contest that was not needed at times while the bracket system was used!  This will be interesting to watch and see who will end up facing Asteroid for the final out of his career!

new-american-logo-polaris-branding The next afternoon, March 1st, the world of professional rodeo will once again make history as the 2nd annual RFD-TV’s The American takes center stage again.  Not only will the top ten contestants in each of the seven professional rodeo events try their hardest to take home a piece of the 2 million dollar payday but some young guns will try to make history for a second year in a row as well.  Five contestants in each event have earned their spot to run inside AT&T Stadium by qualifying and earning a top five spot after the semi-finals concluded last weekend in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Along with the five qualifiers there are select contestants that have earned their own “exemption” status and will ride for the richest payday for a one day rodeo in western sports history.  These will include some of the legends of the sport and will be sure to bring the sold out crowd to their feet.  There will be excitement in the arena as well when the qualifiers take their turn as a very young nine-year-old Chayni Chamberlain won the semi-finals over 500 other barrel racers to earn her spot underneath the big lights and take home a cool $41,000 for her work.

We will be there covering all the events that take place but will you be joining us in Arlington, Texas in just two short days?  If you are unable to attend these fantastic events this year start planning on attending next year as this life changing event does nothing but get bigger and better every single year.

We look forward to hearing from our loyal listeners and fans via our fan interaction call in number.  Be sure to call and leave your name, where you live, who the question is for and what your question is to have a chance of having your question answered during our live video interviews from AT&T Stadium all weekend long!
