Everyone will be watching the two exciting world championship races, the World Championship bull riding title race and the World Championship bucking bull title race.  The bull riding title is a very exciting and close race to watch as the second half of the season unfolds as the top five in the world are separated by a mere 1600 points and world #2 Matt Triplett is on a mission to reclaim the lead after loosing it earlier in the season due to injury.

In an unexpected and terrifying announcement Marlene Henry, owner of World Champion bull contender Mick E Mouse, said that she would be taking her prized bull out of competition starting with the PBR BFTS event in Biloxi, Mississippi this weekend and will be out of competition for the foreseeable future with no timeframe on a return.  This is horrific news for all of the PBR’s fans and the owner and stock contractor for the championship caliber bucking bull.

Mick E Mouse sustained a slight lower back fracture in Billings, Montana earlier in the year and a recheck earlier last week found that this bovine athlete was still dealing with some nerve and muscle damage in the area near his back fracture.  When that news came down the line Henry and Mick E Mouse’s stock contractor Kevin Loudamy decided to bring him to renowned veterinarian Dr. Gary Warner on Wednesday for further analysis.

After the announcement Marlene Henry made a statement regarding the situation by saying, “I am sad, the last week I have had a really hard time,”.  She went on to say, “I have not been able to sleep, eat or nothing. I feel a whole lot better that he is going to Warner for another opinion.”  There is a lot of speculation as to if we will ever see Mick E Mouse in the arena again to try and win the World Championship bucking bull title and there is still the unknown outcome for this 7 year-old bovine after Henry openly admitted, “I just want to fix him to where he can live the rest of his life comfortably.”  She did not speculate any further only saying, “Right now, that is my main goal.”  All of us here at the Rodeo Round Up wish nothing but the best for Marlene, Mick E Mouse and all those involved in the recovery of this great animal athlete.  We will continue to monitor the situation and bring any updated reports as to the status and health of Mick E Mouse.
